REUNION THANK-YOU
Hi to Everyone!
A big thank-you to everyone who came home to Ridgedale for the Reunion Weekend. I hope everyone had a good visit with relatives and friends. People were asking if they could make comments so on this posting it has a comments section; click on it and you can make your comment or suggestion. Also, I have just updated the names of those who were here. IF you know of someone that was here and their name is not on the list, PLEASE let me know; either in the comment secton or email my email address: purplegolfshop@yahoo.ca
A super big thank-you to Bev Sochaski for her hours and hours of work keeping our bookkeeping in order. Bev works full time and yet put countless hours into the success of the weekend.
Thanks to Don Sochaski for his quiet, calming influence when we became a slight bit flustered over one thing or another.
A big thank-up you to The Reunion Committee for attending the countless meetings and for all the work at getting addresses, mailing letters, etc., etc.
Another big thank-you to all the volunteers and residents of Ridgedale and area for helping in any way to the success of the weekend. The town was all dressed up for company and it looked sooo very smart.
A wonderful job was done by the caterers we hired to feed you for the weekend. Also to Karen Scammell for doing the arranging with them.
Thank-you to Barb Messenger and Barb Dick for the work keeping the coffee pots on at the Senior Hall and the Centennial Hall and to all of those who brought baking for all of us to enjoy.
Thank-you to all who brought items for the silent auction and to all who purchased them. Hope you were not too disappointed if you didn't have the highest bid.
The parade was impressive. Thanks to all participants and to our announcers Don and Shelley for doing our version of the Rose Bowl Parade. Thanks to Murray and Brenda for the sound system and music for the dance.
Thank-you to Alynn and her crew for doing such a great job of cleaning up the rink and making sure the beer gardens ran so smoothly.
Thanks to Sonya Meier for the idea of having fireworks (A first for Ridgedale) and then getting sponsors to pay for them. GREAT JOB Sonya.
Thanks to the many, many sponsors who helped in any way to make the weekend a success.
Thanks to Rev. Shaw for a beautiful church service and to his wife, Joan for all the tying.
I was asked if there was a way people could post their pictures. I am working with some technical wizards and will let you know what they come up with.
I am sure I have forgot someone. If I have, please consider yourself thanked.
All the best to everyone. Hope everyone arrived safely back at their homes. Dianne Barber (Hancock)

What a wonderful reunion! Only superlatives can describe the event:the food, the venues, the weather, the variety of events, the effort that went into sprucing up the town complete with signs, but most of all the committee and volunteers who organized and carried it all off so well. We so enjoyed every aspect of the weekend and visiting with "old" friends. Thank you so much to everyone from both of us. Your efforts were truly appreciated and will be long remembered.

Hi Karen & Dale
This is just a note to say thank you for the tremendous work all of
you did to make the re-union so successful! Please thank all the
members for me.
I have never been to an organized function in Ridgedale, since I left in 1966.
I am so happy that I attended this time. I was so happy to see so
many people who were long lost friends. And it was through your hard work that this was possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
It was more enjoyable than I can ever express. All of you deserve
all the appreciation we can express, and more.
If anyone wants to communicate with me, I'd enjoy hearing from you. e-mail: mary4hmr@yahoo.ca.
Please say hello to everyone on the committees.
Sincerely,
Helen Ramnarine (Kukurudza)

On behalf of Doug & Leona Shields (Dad & Mom), Lloyd and I would like to thank everyone for such a wonderful event. I have been part of the Shields family for 32 years and have heard all the wonderful stories of Ridgedale. BC born and bred I have never been to Saskatchewan. What a beautiful country we live in. I would like to especially thank Dale & Karen for their hospitality, Danny for making us laugh until we cried and for the tour of his "elevator", to Stan & Shirley for opening you home to us. You all played such a lovely part of this wonderful celebration and you brougt back so many memories for those that I love. It was incredible. Thank you! Wendy Shield

As a visitor at the first Ridgedale Re-Union I would ask how much "Money" went missing via Wayne & Linda Galenzoski during the organizing and directing the of activities?
It was my understanding this question should be posed to these "Pillars" of the community who no longer reside in the area.
